The district encourages talented and caring teachers who are enthusiastic about education and working with young people to join the Alum Rock family. District-wide professional development for all teachers and administrators is provided to assist our staff in meeting the needs of our students. Support for newly credentialed teachers is provided by the district through The New Teacher Center, University of California of Santa Cruz.

The district provides a supplemental instructional program for English Learners as well as programs for gifted students and students with special needs.
