Welcome
We are proud to announce that Joseph George Middle School will become a Visual and Performing Arts Anchor School starting in the fall! We will be exposing our students to music, art, dance, and theater in two separate ways.
Starting in August, all students will be engaged in visual and performing arts learning through their P.E. and Social Studies class. As students progress through civilizations, time periods, and countries, they will also learn extensively about the arts of that particular time and place.
In addition to imbedding visual and performing arts into Social Studies, Joseph George Middle School will offer elective courses in Art and Choir, along side our award winning Band program! Students interested in one of these courses will need to take a zero period course. Before the end of this school year, sixth and seventh graders will have the opportunity to sign up for an elective course. Forms will be sent home with all students.
Over the next three years, Joseph George Middle School will continue to evolve into a competitive and comprehensive Visual and Performing Arts School. We want to thank the following people that helped make this dream a reality for Joseph George students: Mr. Guerra, Ms. MacDonald, Ms. Shimabukuro, Mrs. Rivera, Mrs. Olsen, Dr. Castro, and Ms. Wylie. Without their support, this dream would have stayed a dream.
We are all very excited about our new direction. It is our hope that our parents and community will join us in this journey. Please stop in the office or call us if you would like to be involved.
