By-District Trustee Area Elections
The transition from at-large elections to by-trustee area elections must follow a process required by law and the District and the Board of Trustees are committed to transparency throughout this process. The District is taking steps to encourage public participation in the process including notifying District parents and community members, employee groups (unions), non-profits, local elected officials and other stakeholder groups, and community and District partners. To comply with the law, the District will be holding a series of public hearings to assist the public in understanding this process, to take public comment, and to gather information to aid in the preparation of maps for consideration that will outline proposed boundaries for the new trustee areas in the Alum Rock School District. The public hearings are currently scheduled for the dates below.
