REPORTING AN ABSENCE


All Alum Rock Union School District employees must report their absences by either calling in to the SmartFind Express System or by visiting the SmartFind Express website at https://alumrock.eschoolsolutions.com.

Reporting an absence by phone:

  1. Call (408) 824-6996

  2. Enter Access ID and Pin Number

  3. Follow the prompts to report an absence (Note: If an employee's position requires a substitute, the employee may choose the option to request a sub.)

  4. Once the absence has been reported, the system will generate a "Job Number" as a receipt

  5. At this time, the automated system will reach out to all available substitutes

Reporting an absence online:

  1. Go to https://alumrock.eschoolsolutions.com

  2. On the home page, enter your Access ID and Pin Number 

  3. Select "Create an Absence" tab at the top of the page

  4. Select the "Reason" for your absence from the pull down menu

  5. Enter a Start and End Dates

  6. Choose the date(s) from the "Weekly Schedule" field and update

  7. Select "Continue" at the bottom of the page

  8. Select "Create Absence" to generate a "Job Number" as a receipt

  9. At this time, the automated system will reach out to all available substitutes.
     

Access ID:

  • Permanent Classified and Certificated Employees: Access ID is your 6 digit employee #.

  • Substitute Classified and Certificated Employees: Access ID is your 7 digit phone # without the area code.

Password: (for all employees)

  • Via Telephone: Your password is your birth date in this format YY/MM/DD.
    (Example: January 1, 1999 is 990101)

  • For online reportingYour password is your birth date in this format YY/MM/DD-AR
    (Example: January 1, 1999 is 990101-AR)

    *New password parameters require that -AR be added to birth date format for online log in only.*
