The District Payroll Department provides service, support and assistance in the area of Payroll and Retirement reporting for 22 School Sites in the Alum Rock Union School District.
Our areas of responsibility include:
- Attendance: Sick Leave and Vacation Balance (normally reflects activity through prior period)
- Timesheets for Substitutes, Additional Duties, Professional Development and Over-time
- Assist in payroll calculations and adjustments for Classified and Certificated employees
- Payment and reporting of Payroll Taxes (FICA, Medicare, Federal and State)
- Tax Withholdings (Federal W-4 and State DE 4)
- Preparation of W-2’s
- Payment and reporting of SDI (State Disability Insurance)
- Reporting of SUI (State Unemployment Insurance)
- Payment, audit and processing of Retirement Reporting for CalSTRS, CalPERS and APPLE
- Payroll Calendar
- Process Direct Deposits (ACH) enrollments
- Process Wage Garnishments (IRS Levy, Franchise Tax Board, ECMC, Family Support, etc.)
- Process Deferred Pay withholding enrollments
- Tax Shelter Annuity’s for 403(b) and 457(b) Plans
- Voluntary Deductions
- Verification of Employment processing
