• Meet The Administrators

It is our honor to be the administrators here at Joseph George Middle School. In the years that we have had the privilege to work at George Middle School, we have seen the school grow into a cohesive unit.

This unit brings together the students, teachers, staff, parents and community members. We plan to continue to grow the partnership between the parents and the school to maximize student learning. Together we can provide the students with opportunities to become 21st Century learners using technology, working collaboratively and exploring the arts.

We believe in providing students with opportunities to develop new talents and skills in academic areas and in the visual and performing arts. Academically we will provide the students with the skills to be critical thinkers, problem solvers, work in teams and build their communication skills. In the arts they will be able to learn dance, music, singing and visual art techniques. Each area allows students to build self-confidence by performing, presenting or displaying art work.

I began my service in the Alum Rock Community in 2008, where I served as a Sixth Grade Teacher for two years and a Fifth Grade teacher for four years after that, at Ryan Elementary.  During my time at Ryan Elementary, I was selected as the Teacher of the Year for the school site in the 2014-2015 School Year.  I also headed my grade level, served in the school leadership, and chaired the Positive Behavior Intervention System program for the school.  Most recently,  I have served the Joseph George Community for the past 3 years.  My first year at JGMS, I served as the Instructional Coach, and the last two as the Assistant Principal.  I am honored and humbled to lead the school as principal this coming 2017-2018 school year.

I received my Associates of Arts Degree in Liberal Studies from Merced College and my Bachelors of Arts Degree in Liberal Studies with a concentration in Sociology from the California State University, Stanislaus, in Turlock, CA.  I went on to receive my Masters of Arts Degree in Education Leadership from San Jose State University with a focus in Social Justice and Equity.

I am a native Californian.  I have lived in both the San Francisco Bay Area and the Central San Joaqin Valley.  I have always had a love and passion for the arts.  I was performer for my high school's colorguard, then went on to perform for the Concord Blue Devils Winterguard.  I instructed both middle school and high school colorguard competitive groups for seven years, and now judge events on my free time for the Northern California Band Association.

I am so honored to be serving the Joseph George Community.  My passion and vision to drive excellence while infusing the arts and building the whole child will support the school in every step we take.  It is my belief that every student should have access to the full spectrum of academia and arts.  I look forward to my work with everyone here in this community and the continued partnerships which will drive Joseph George students to excellence.

     2017 2018 VP Pic

I began my career in education in Los Angeles during the 2006-2007 school year serving as a Special Education Teacher and Department Chair. I later moved to the Bay Area in 2006 and served as a teacher and department head for the special education department and helped service many student populations. We provided services in counseling, Positive Behavior Intervention, and worked with many stakeholders to assure that student achievement and compliance were met.The last four years I worked in a Continuation School where I helped 85% of the students in our department graduate and go to college and vocational schools around the country. I am honored, excited, and delighted to work as a Vice Principal for a community that is very similar to the one that I was raised in southern California.

I received my Bachelors of Arts Degree in History from the University of California Riverside. I went on and received my Education Specialist Credential with Master of Arts in Special Education. Furthermore, I received my second Master of Arts  in Education Leadership at Arizona State University.

I am a native Californian from parents who migrated from Central America. I was born and raised in the Los Angeles area. Lastly, I have lived in the Bay Area for the past 6 years and I am now proud to be a part of the San Jose community.
